How do I qualify for becoming a courier?

Due to the nature of the duties, including but not limited to occasional strenuous activity, the following persons cannot be accepted by JUPITER as On-board Couriers:

  1. Anyone under 18 years old.
  2. Anyone with a criminal conviction in any country.
  3. Anyone not in good health.
  4. Anyone mentally handicapped.
  5. Anyone not currently in possession of a valid travel document and a valid entry visa for country of destination.
  6. Females who are pregnant over six months.
  7. Anyone who cannot converse in and fully understand the English language.

What are the responsibilities of a Jupiter courier?

In accepting the offer you agree to act as the JUPITER On-board Courier and to carry out the duties as required. Your responsibility is to be the “PASSENGER” who is accompanying JUPITER courier bags from airport to airport only. At departure, the courier bags will be checked-in on your behalf by JUPITER personnel These courier bags, in principle, contain only express documents and general cargo which are legally permitted to be brought in under a manifest declaration which you will be provided with. At some reroute stations, you may be required to pass through the regular immigration and customs formalities to declare to customs officials. The con-tents of any courier bags which we may unload at such transit pouts. Nevertheless, at these transit points and your final destination, you will be met by Jupiter personnel or the staff of contracted agency who will assist you picking up the courier bags from customs area and assist you in declarations to the customs officials. There will be instructions for you upon departure and you are expected to follow the instructions fully. If you need such instructions at the time of application, we may provide you with them upon your request.

The correctness of the manifests and contents of all courier bags are solely the responsibilities of JUPITER. You do not require any technical knowledge about the courier industry. When you declare the contents of our courier bags, you declare as the COURIER for JUPITER which is known to customs officials as an On-board Courier Operator. Your basic requirements are a neat appearance, reliability, an understanding of instructions given and common sense.

You are solely responsible to the airlines and to the customs for any item you carry on yourcab' baggage. JUPITER reserves the right to search this baggage prior to departure. Any item which JUPITER considers to be at variance with the standard regulations will have to be left behind. We will request you to carry a document pouch containing manifests relating to checked-in courier bags. You are solely responsible for it and we suggest that you should check its contents carefully before acceptance

One week before your departure, JUPITER requires a physical check of your travel document which should remain valid throughout your entire trip with valid visa, if required. If the travel document is found to be not in order, JUPITER considers that you have canceled your trip voluntarily since there is no guarantee that you can obtain your visa or extend the validity at your travel document in time to perform your obligations.

Throughout the trip you must adhere to JUPITER's code of confidentiality by not disclosing any JUPITER information encountered during the course of your duties and by not carrying for any other unauthorized party.

What are my liabilities of a courier?

No employer/employee relationship exists between JUPITER, and non-salaried couriers. JUPITER accepts no liability in respect of any loss or damage to personal baggage, personal injures, death or accidents which may occur during the entire trip other than such loss or damage directly caused by JUPITER's gross negligence or willful misconduct Any claim for liability or loss should be directed either to au earner concerned or to the courier's personal insurance company. No insurance coverage for whatever purpose is maintained by JUPITER for non-salaried On-board Couriers.

No liability for compensation or reimbursement of expenses will be entertained by JUPITER in the unlikely event that it finds it necessary, with good reasons, to change or withdraw the offer of a flight at any tune with or without notice. If JUPITER does have to withdraw the offer of a flight, the administrative charge will be refunded m FULL before the journey starts or half if change fails on one sector only.

No liability for compensation or reimbursement of expenses will be entertained by JUPITER m the event that the airline, for any reason whatsoever, cancels, postpones or delays the flight or removes the On-board Courier from such flight.

The offer is made for travel on specific flights and dates. Once you have been notified of acceptance of the offer, you will not be able to change the flights and dates offered.

For your own protection during your travel period. We strongly recommend you to take out some personal travel insurance as a safeguard against any unexpected personal expenses you may incur.

How many baggage allow?

JUPITER utilizes one baggage allowances. You are limited to check-in baggage only one piece no larger than 22 x 14 x 9 inches in measurement.

Is there any cancellation charge?

If you have to cancel or change your accepted offer, you will be liable for a cancellation/date change fee as set out below:

What are other terms and conditions?

You are required to give as much information as possible about your whereabouts during your stay at your trip destination. JUPITER could have reason to contact you.

In preparation for the return journey, you must be around and within easy traveling distance to the departure airport city 24 hours prior to departure. You will be required to made telephone contact with our local personnel at that time.

Customs clearance at either end could take up to 1-3 hours after flight arrival. You should allow for this when making any personal ground arrangements.

In the event that you should fail to comply with any of the above terms, conditions and rules, JUPITER may cancel either your round trip, or your return ticket. If your return ticket is cancelled, you understand and agree that you will be liable for all costs including without limitation, airfare, lodging and meals incurred for your return trio from your courier destination.

Please call our office at your destination to reconfirm your return flight AT LEAST 72 HOURS before its scheduled departure time. Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled.
